Gulval off to a winning start

E-mail Print PDF

Gulval beat Halye 3-2 in their first pre season game.

Gulval dominated for spells during the first half and deservedly ended the half 2-0 up thanks to goals from Pete Jeffry and Phil Harvey.  Hayle made changes in the second half and came back into the game scoring a well worked goal after ten minutes.  Both sides continued to create chances and Gulval extended their lead when Anthony Nicholas scored with a chip over the keeper.  Hayle got their second goal from a free kick on the edge of the box but Gulval held on for the win.

Clubhouse Developments

The club house at the cricket club is being redeveloped over the winter to add a first floor and improve all the facilities.  Due to this the football club wont have access to the building for the season but we will continue to use the pitch and the changing facilities at the college.

For anyone interested in seeing the proposals for the redevelopment there is an open evening on Wednesday 28th July, 7:30 at the club.

When any more information is available I will post it on the site.

Pre Season Training

E-mail Print PDF
The first pre-season training session was highly successful with over 20 players turning out.  In a tough first session Dave Jewell put the players to task with a vigorous fitness regime which tested even the fittest players.  This was followed by ball skills and a couple of small sided games which were enjoyed by all.  Hopefully all the hard work will pay off when the season starts!

Training is every Wednesday 6pm at Penzance Cricket Club, all players are welcome so come along for a hard workout and a good laugh.

New Reserve Team Manager

E-mail Print PDF

Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Rob Gall on becoming the new reserver team manager.  Rob has been with the club for a number of years now and has always given his all on the pitch.  He takes over from Rhondda Mitchell who has stepped down after guiding the reserves to a very respectable mid table finish and also to the semi final of the Jolly's Shield last year.
